Held on the third Tuesday of the month from 2pm.
We are a friendly group where everyone is encouraged to participate. The group looks at various aspects of the history of Dundee. We have discussed the invasion of the town by the English troops and the effect of the Jacobite rebellions. Religious establishments. Theatres and cinemas. The coloured thread, soap, shoe, and hand loom weaving industries. The introduction of power looms and influx of people from the country to work in the mills and factories. Housing. Education. Poor relief. Museums and libraries. Police and firemen. Shops and restaurants. We do not take ourselves too seriously, we just enjoy some history and a bit of nostalgia.
