u3a Scotland

The u3a in Scotland has its own website with information specific to Scotland. Visit it here U3A Scotland

This is a recent message from Ann Walsh the Scotland u3a Chairperson which she sent on 31 December 2023.

Those of you who are members of the Facebook page u3a: Keeping in Touch, may have seen a post about scam contact via the u3a website.

u3a in Scotland has been targeted. If you receive an email allegedly from any of the committee on our contacts page, that asks you to reply to an email address that you are not familiar with, please, mark it as spam and delete it. If in doubt contact me on the official one that will come along with this email.

Online Across Scotland

This network was set up to enable u3a members from across Scotland to take part in interest groups and courses offered online by fellow u3a members. We were launched during lockdown when local u3as could not meet. Our groups remain active and our talks prove popular, complementing activities offers through individual u3as. View us here

For those for whom their u3a does not offer a group that they would wish to join, OAS may be able to offer this on line. Maybe the member would like to organise this group.

u3as in Scotland do not cover all areas of Scotland. If you would like to join the groups here, either join the Trust as a member or one of the Scottish u3as - this will then entitle you to all that u3a has to offer. This includes UK wide talks and short courses as well as OAS groups and talks.

Please visit our Groups page to discover the range of groups on offer.

Useful Local Websites

Whether it is local bus time tables, the Council budget, all about local democracy or even school meal menus the main Dumfries & Galloway website has it all. It also has details of how to contact the Council whether by phone, email or where you can visit the Community Service Centres.

For a non official website you cannot do much better than visit D&Gonline. Not only does it have what's on information but a host of information about Dumfries and Dumfries & Galloway with links to web sites throughout south west Scotland. Be it: Arts, Crafts, Museums; Food and Drink; Community Sites; Facts and Figures about Dumfries & Galloway, and more - it's all there.
