Time: Planned start in October
The online sessions will focus on planning walking routes using software on a computer AND on smart phones. We will use OS Maps Software for country walks and Plot-a-Route for Urban walks.
Areas covered will be:- planning routes, descriptions, measuring distance and climb, estimating times, map scales, and printing of routes. We will also compare and review other software.
Some outdoor time in twos to fours may be possible.
Some theoretical compass work may be included if required.
In 'normal' times
Time: Various
Venue Member's home and various parks.
It is a six week course that runs on demand.
Learn how to read a compass confidently in order to plan a country walk without getting lost! Route planning, also Google, and Ordnance Survey on line, satnavs and Garmin may also be discussed.
