Astronomy
Currently meeting online via Zoom
Time: Monthly on the third Tuesday 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm
Venue: East Dulwich
The Astronomy Group will follow a range of online courses from universities around the world.
We will try out computer programs and tablet apps that help us view the skies.
Visits to exhibitions, observatories and planetariums will also take place.
The main aim is to view the night sky, identify stars and learn more about them.
We often take the opportunity to explore the sky while on holiday and report to the group on return.
Recently our members have reported on the Southern Cross Star from Argentina, A star party from the Hollywood Hills and the Prague Observatory.
Two of our members were lucky to get an invitation to meet Helen Sharman the first British Astronaut at the Greenwich Observatory.
At our December meeting we discussed the possible identity of the 'Star of Bethlehem'

If you have ever looked at the sky and said, 'What's that bright thing up there?' then this is the group for you.
