CONVENOR WANTED
This group kept going during pandemic but is unable to continue due to health and other commitments.
If anyone would like this group to continue please contact us.
Help and guidance in running a group is available.
Time: Monthly on the third Monday 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm
Venue: Private home in East Dulwich and various venues
The Astronomy Group will follow a range of online courses from universities around the world. We will try out computer programs and tablet apps that help us view the skies. Visits to exhibitions, observatories and planetariums will also take place. The main aim is to view the night sky, identify stars and learn more about them. We often take the opportunity to explore the sky while on holiday and report to the group on return. At our December 2020 meeting we discussed the possible identity of the 'Star of Bethlehem'. If you have ever looked at the sky and said, 'What's that bright thing up there?' then this is the group for you.
