We are a friendly, mixed ability group of ten. To stimulate conversation, we read, translate and discuss material from Italian textbooks, newspapers and Internet articles and, periodically, focus on other topics suggested by group members. During 2020, we are looking at each of Italy’s 20 regions in turn, with each member engaged to introduce material on two of the regions during the year. Topics may include the region's geography, history, agriculture, industry, gastronomy, music and other cultural aspects as well as current news items, with our reading backed up by listening to authentic Italian speech or songs. We also review elements of grammar that may have arisen from the written materials or that are suggested by group members.
