| About the Group: | The Monday Book Group philosophy is to read books by unfamiliar authors exploring a variety of genres. Dronfield Library loans us a set of books most months which we read and discuss and we supplement these loans with our own reading choices at regular times throughout the year. Online Zoom meetings remain an option should it be necessary in the future. |
| Meetings: | 2nd Monday of each month. |
| Time: | We are currently meeting at the earlier time of 12.30 -1.45 pm in Dronfield Library Meeting Room. This is due to temporary opening times in place at the moment. We are hoping to return to our 2pm start shortly. |
| Vacancies: | This group currently full. U3A members may also join our waiting list. At present our capacity is 9. This is due to the borrowing limit on books from Derbyshire Library Service, rather than the size of the venue. The waiting list is under constant review and those on the list are invited to join the group on an ad hoc basis whenever a space is available due to the planned non-attendance of a member. Waiting list members will be contacted by the co-ordinator using email whenever a place is available.We are charged for the hire of our meeting room by Dronfield Library. |
| Charges: | All members are required to contribute £10 in advance( extra money may need to be charged from May this year) to cover the cost of hire during 2024. |
| Starting a new group: | Please contact me if you would like any help or advice to start another Book Group. We currently have three. There are so many ways to meet and discuss your reading with others and I have lots of ideas to help. Our group uses our local Library. Speak to Annie the Librarian in charge of Book Groups who will be very helpful and supportive.The more we make use of Dronfield Library the better. If we don't use it, we may lose it! |
