For information about the operation of Droitwich U3A groups during the current pandemic, please see the table of Currently Active Groups at the start of the Groups page.
In normal circumstances, the group now meets once a month on the 2nd Friday morning of the month between September and June, for about 1½ to 2 hours. We have talks on various topics relating to the history of Droitwich and the nearby areas of Worcestershire. Recently we have had speakers on subjects such as Tudor Bishops, Worcestershire Artists and Droitwich Newtown and Neighbouring Estates. Members also collaborated on a presentation about Edward Winslow and the Pilgrim Fathers. Once or twice a term we have outings instead of meeting at Rotary House. The cost of these varies. We have visited Worcestershire Masonic Library and Museum, the Guildhall in Worcester and the Norton Museum in Bromsgrove among many other interesting places.
There is a partial provisional programme for the Spring term 2021 which includes Worcester Entertained and Villages around Droitwich in Old Photographs. It is hoped that some of the planned talks might be delivered via Zoom if we cannot meet face to face.
