Wednesday 2.30-4pm, 4th Wednesday of the month, at the Methodist Church.
A group of eleven of us met for the first time on 25th October, in a classroom at the Methodist Church. We started by looking briefly at the beginnings of Sociology with Durkheim's study of suicide rates across Europe. We then started talking about families, what they do for us, and some theory from sociologists about how useful families are for both individuals and for society. We plan to continue with this topic at our next meeting, which will be on 22nd November. New members will be welcome.
