Current Affairs Discussion
After the inception of Downham Market U3A, the Current Affairs group was one the first to get off the ground. There are 14 people on the “register” and usually 9/10 turn up.
We don’t find it difficult to find something to talk about - birth control, transgender issues, ”Brexit”, proportional representation - you name it, we’ve probably had a discussion about it! A certain amount of repetition occurs but then-the subjects we talk about are not static in their content.
At one time, we were female-weighted in terms of numbers but the number of men has recently increased.
We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 2pm at Bank House, Bridge Street.
