Singing for Pleasure
What can I say? The name says it all. We meet on alternate Wednesday mornings, in the Downham Methodist Social Centre from 10am till 11am. And we sing. We sing all sorts of songs; songs from the shows, old favourites from yesteryear, rounds, silly songs, sad songs, serious songs. A few of us like to read dots; a few like to add harmonies or descants. We have two accompanists who try to keep us in tune and I try to keep the songs on track! Dynamics!! The group is mainly ladies but we have four gentlemen.
We sing for our own pleasure but occasionally someone invites us to entertain them; Silver Threads, Stroke Club, and the Dementia Cafe. We also took part in the Choir festival.
If you like to sing come along. Singing is so good for you and we always go away happier than when we arrived!
