French Group 2

Group Leader: Lilah Catchpole

Venue: Central Library, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3JE

Day & Time: Thursday 13.30

Frequency: Fortnightly

Description:
The aim of French Groups 1 and 2 is to help members maintain their knowledge of spoken and written French by conversation and translating French texts.

We do listen to recordings of spoken French. At present we are listening to Bluebeard (which is spoken at are slow pace). Some recordings are of news items, we will listen to a report of the Russian-African conference aimed at boosting Russia's presence in Africa. We also listen to French songs by the likes of Yves Montand, Jacques Brel, Juliette Greco, Edith Piaf. Quite often we examine an article from a French newspaper, such as Le Monde. We will look at an article on the forest fires in Australia.
