Short Walks

Our walks are social affairs, generally fairly easy walking over about four miles at a relaxed pace, mostly on tracks and paths, though some patches of rough ground and mud will often be encountered. Prolonged steep inclines are avoided, with a total walk ascent usually under 150 metres. We meet every second Tuesday at 10am, preferably at whatever car park is a suitable starting point for the individual walk. Sometimes parking space is limited and car sharing needs to be arranged. We find a good place about halfway along the walk for a break and a cuppa, and often visit a cafe afterwards. Walk venues are usually within 20 miles or so of Dingwall. With active membership now up to twenty, we have reluctantly decided to hold our numbers at this level for the moment. This is because difficulties can arise in finding sufficiently large car parks and post-walk cafes, and keeping tabs on a large group during limited-visibilty (eg in woodland) walks can be an issue too. The situation is being kept under review and hopefully we will be able to welcome new walkers in the not too distant future.
