Scroll down this page and click on the links in the table below to find out what groups are doing. Active groups are highlighted in grey. Where a group meets on Zoom, this is indicated. All other groups are meeting face to face.

All groups have a Group Organiser (sometimes this role is shared) who maintains their own group page on the website. Instructions for Group Organisers on how to edit their webpage are given in the links on the right hand side of this page.

This Group Timetable shows which groups are meeting on each day of the week and whether the group is having face to face or Zoom meetings.

Our meeting places
Derby u3a does not have its own building or a single meeting place. We use a variety of venues including sports halls and members’ own homes, depending on the needs of the individual groups. If you attend a group which uses a venue not generally used by any other groups, your group organiser will tell you how to get there. One of our main venues, the Central United Reformed Church in Stuart House, on Green Lane, has several organisations occupying the building, and their fire regulations (password protected) can be seen in the links on the right of this page.

Reciprocal Arrangements with Other Local u3as

We have reciprocal arrangements with some nearby u3as, whereby current members of Derby u3a can join a number of other groups in another u3a (where they have vacancies) without having to join that u3a - they would still be expected to pay an individual meeting fee, where one applies and show evidence of Derby u3a membership - either by an email from Derby u3a acknowledging membership of by showing a membership card. If you would like a membership card, please contact the Membership Secretary.
Please note that if we do not have a reciprocal arrangement with another u3a, and you wish to join one or more of their groups, you will need to join that u3a as an Associate Member. Please contact the other u3a directly.

Interest Groups Online

Interest Groups Online runs UK-wide Zoom groups, events and courses on a number of topics. Note that Trust u3a is a separate u3a organisation and a £12 fee is payable to join to access their groups.

How to use Zoom

Zoom can be accessed with a PC, laptop or smartphone via the internet. It can also be accessed using a landline or mobile phone. The u3a Trust provides information about how to access Zoom and also runs online Zoom tutorials for individuals and group leaders.
