Gaelic Conversation Beginners
The Group Contact person is Bruce Dunnett.
The group meet every Monday from 11.00 to 1.00 pm. Meetings are at the Fire Station, Millgate, Cupar but we have not, so far, been asked to turn out with the Brigade.
The maximum number we can cater for is 10 and we have spaces just now - depending on your background knowledge. Please get in touch if you are interested by sending a message using the bluebird on this page. Your message will be logged and forwarded to the Group Contact for a response.
The Group is for those with an interest in the Gaelic language who would like to engage with like minded
souls in an relaxed and informal atmosphere. The group are specifically a conversation group and there is no teacher or lessons. There is a relaxed atmosphere where everyone should be at their ease rather than a formal lesson.
The group are using BBC "Speaking Our Language" course - DVDs and work books - to get to grips with the language. We hope to become able to maintain a halting Gaelic conversation with each other and with the natives in Stornoway.
