Current Affairs Discussion Group

When: 2nd Thursday in the month in the afternoon.
Where: Meeting on Zoom

TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

Thanks to the enthusiasm of members we have re-started the Current Affairs group. For the immediate future we are meeting on Zoom but we plan to meet face-to-face as soon as it is safe to do so. We will then have to assess whether we hire a venue or meet privately.

Our discussions have kept off Covid. There are much more interesting topics to discuss such as parties we weren't invited to but now attract the boys and girls in blue. Throughout last year we kept to a regular change of subjects such as the NHS, social care, education, climate change, what is happening in the world and the economy.

The group is true U3A style learning as each person in the group contributes their experiences, their knowledge and their enthusiasm about what is happening globally. to enjoy the group you just need a lively mind and enjoy lively but friendly discussion.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank former group leader Barry Gifford for all the hard work he put in to keep the group going for so long.

We would welcome new membership to our lively “zooming” discussions, which take place on the second Thursday afternoons of each month. If you are interested please contact me via the email link on the right.
