Crowborough

Literature(classics)

The group originated as "The Thomas Hardy Group", and for three years we read the works and studied the life of this wonderful writer.

We have since moved on to cover many other authors. From George Eliot, Charles Dickens, Anthony Trollope and Elizabeth Gaskell to E M Forster, Evelyn Waugh, Virginia Woolf and Grahame Greene. I usually select books of around 300 pages which can be comfortably read in a month. I have arrangements with local libraries so can usually get enough copies for all the group.

The group meets on the morning of the second Wednesday of the month and, apart from discussing our current read, we exchange views on other books and authors we have enjoyed and share our favourite bits.

The group has twelve members at the moment. If you are interested in this subject please contact the group leader via the email link on this page.
