Our monthly meetings take place at Crowborough Community Centre where refreshments are available at the excellent café before or after our meeting.
There will be a cost per meeting of £1.50 to share the cost of hiring the room. All members will be asked to pay six months in advance.
The structure for our monthly meetings will be approximately as follows:
Members to bring a few photos to show to the group. These would be of interest and also offer a possibility of discussion of ideas and improvement using new and known adjustments. About 30 minutes duration.
This would be followed by a session of instruction by a member of the group on such subjects as:
basics of cameras,
Photoshop/Elements/Lightroom to cover basics and more advanced aspects, such as layers, adjustment etc.,
Manipulation of camera,
External hardware and its usefulness,
And any other subject requested or suggested by members.
Finally we would also try to watch a video explaining a photo subject. We have a very large collection of instructional videos as well as everything on offer on the web.
This will start properly from November as in October we are preparing for our annual exhibition in the café at the Community Centre.
During the year we hope to include hands on sessions for macro with light tents, an outing in warmer months, portraiture and lighting, such subjects as macro, silhouettes, action shots – sport, panning, shapes, seasons, flowers, street photography, high key, low key. Subjects are driven by the group and suggestions for subject matter are welcomed.
Our November instruction will cover layers, resizing of photos etc.
We still have places available and would welcome new members. We hope to cover subjects for beginners up to more experienced photo enthusiasts.
