String Theory play string-driven swing.....

Mostly, but not entirely, music from the repertoire of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and The Quintette du Hot Club du France in the period 1934 - 1947.

Double bass and acoustic rhythm guitar support the melody and improvisation from solo violin and solo lead acoustic guitar. Melodic, foot-tapping, feel-good "Gypsy Jazz" swing that usually appeals to a wide age range and often encourages dancing!

They do include Latin, film themes and occasional quirky tunes (such as the Vision On/ Left Bank TV theme) and other jazz standards from much of 20th century in their usual performances but thought they would concentrate on the Hot Club numbers for the U3A with guitarist Adrian giving informative historical intro notes etc
