Mystery coach trip to Wales
A mystery coach tour for 35 members was organised by Jan Simpson of the Serendipity Club. The driver changed directions many times to keep people guessing about the destination. Jan suggested Paignton but she was wrong by about 150 miles when the coach reached Hereford for lunch.
They then crossed into Wales to stay a couple of nights in Porthcawl and visit Swansea and Tenby. The journey home included a stop at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff. It was ironical that, after a round trip of 500 miles, the road into Merriott was closed and the coach driver had to make a detour to get them home. No mystery about the success of the trip: “We all had a great time,” says Jan who is taking bookings now for the next Serendipity trip to Bognor Regis in May.
