Presentation to geology group leader
Val Watson was presented with a bouquet and praised for leaving no stone unturned in ensuring another successful year for Crewkerne & District U3A’s geology group. The presentation was made to her by Liz Randall at the December meeting of the group at St Bartholomew’s Church Hall on December 12.
Despite the horrid weather, 30 members went to the meeting to thank her for organising such an interesting and enjoyable programme in what was another bumper year for the U3A’s biggest group. A presentation was also made to Charlotte Rowntree for her work in keeping everyone up to date with the group’s activities and geological news.
There was a bring and share lunch, and a display of photographs of the various talks and outings that they had undertaken during the year, including visits to Wookey Hole, museums at Torquay and Kimmeridge, and a cruise from Exmouth to Exeter. Thanks to Liz Randall who took the pictures.
