A warm welcome to all members of Cranbrook U3A, to those who have recently joined us and to the continuing support we receive from existing members. Our current membership includes Cranbrook but also extends to residents of Staplehurst, Sissinghurst, Biddenden and Benenden and places even further afield. All of you are most welcome and have become valuable members of our organisation. Your contributions to the success of Cranbrook U3A are much appreciated and we hope you will continue to enjoy the benefits of learning a new skill, sharing your knowledge with others and meeting new people.

U3A is a unique and exciting organisation which provides life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities for retired and semi-retired people of any age who come together and learn together. Several members share their life skills by hosting a group activity, others just enjoy socialising with other people. No qualifications are needed – the aim of Cranbrook U3A is to enhance the lives of all who participate. The teachers' learn and the learners' teach.

We are all volunteers and support our members through working on the Committee and in forming Interest Groups in a diverse range of subjects. There are currently more than 30 interest groups with an eclectic mix of subjects such as Bridge, Pottery, Creative Writing, Book Reading, languages (French and Italian), Play Reading, History of Architecture & Design, Walking (Long and Short walks), Outdoor Painting, Keep Fit, Croquet, Petanque and Learn to Sail a Yacht (April-September) plus Wine Appreciation and Singing – activities that should appeal to most people. We are actively looking for people to start groups for Yoga, Photography and to take on Local History.

The social side of Cranbrook U3A is also important to the members. There are regular Coffee Mornings, a Sunday Lunch Club and outings to the theatre, galleries and museums. See the Events page for further details.

The quarterly Cranbrook Matters newsletter provides a real insight into our activities. Click the relevant link to the right of this page or on the Links page and download a copy of the latest publication.

We now have over 250 members. If you would like to join Cranbrook U3A do get in touch with our Membership Secretary on the Contact page or download a Membership Application Form on this page (see column right) or the Links page. We would be delighted to receive your application. Alternatively pick up a leaflet in the Vestry Hall offices, the Crane Surgery, Jockey Lane or come to a Monthly Meeting at 2.15pm on the third Friday of each month in the Vestry Hall, Cranbrook.

Annual Membership of Cranbrook U3A begins on the 1st April each year. If you join us part way through a year we charge a pro rata joining fee depending on the time you join. There is also a reduction if you are a member of another local U3A. Please click on the Membership Application Form link for details of these fees.

We look forward to welcoming you!
