2nd Monday am
Leader: A new leader is currently needed to enable the group to continue. Please contact the Committee if you are interested.
The Walking and Strolling Group started soon after Cottingham U3A was formed in 2000. After a while, it became clear that most members were able to tackle more than a stroll, so the Strolling Group evolved into the Walking and Strolling Groups.
Both groups meet at 11.00am at a prearranged venue and the Strollers split from the Walkers to enjoy a short walk – sometimes around a village pond or church. Strolls to a coffee/tea shop or a garden centre in the vicinity of the walk are especially popular. The Walkers walk up to three miles without many steep areas. Both groups meet up for lunch around 12.30 close to where the walk has taken place.
We try to choose attractive and interesting areas, not too far from home.
It is important to wear appropriate footwear, preferably walking boots, as the ground can be wet or uneven.
We are always pleased to welcome new members to our friendly and informal group.
N.B. Please be there at least 10 mins before the commencement of the walk as we leave promptly at 11 am.
