Knitting & Crocheting

This friendly group welcomes anybody with an interest in knitting or crochet, from the complete beginner, for whom help is available, to the more experienced.

The group meets on alternate Mondays from 1.30pm to 3.00pm.

The group has recently contributed to the support of Friends and Neighbours Essex (FaNs) and received the following message of thanks:

“On behalf of FaNs (Friends & Neighbours) Network Essex, I'm writing to share our gratitude for the amazing contribution that the Knitting group from Colchester U3A have made to our recent campaign. The participating members kindly donated their own supplies of wool and filling, and made approximately 70 pairs of hearts. (See image)
These hearts are being dispatched to local care homes where one heart will be given to a resident, and the other matching heart will be sent safely to their family or friends, providing a desperately needed link between the care home and the outside world at this current time.
“Not only have the members helped out with this new campaign but have already offered to continue knitting for us.
