Wirksworth U3A History Group

The History group meets between 10am and 12pm every fourth Thursday of the month in members homes.

Our subject of interest at the moment is the 1600's

So far this year members have given presentations on The Rise of the British Empire, The Navigation Act, Daniel Defoe, Cromwell in England and Scotland The Ranters and the Fifth Monarchists.

In the future we will be looking at The Poor Relief Law, John Pym, William and Mary,The Great Fire of London and The Great Plague.
