Photo Interest Group
Wirksworth U3A Photographic Interest Group
This group is intended for all those with a wish to learn more about photography, and to have a place to get inspiration, share images and meet others with the same interest. The group is intended for all levels of experience, and any photographic equipment whether a bag full of cameras and lenses, or a smart phone. We are a friendly group with a current membership of around 25.
The group usually meets on the third Tuesday of each month, from 2 - 4pm, and either have indoor meetings on topics of interest, or photography trips in the area.
Some of the areas we have, or will cover in future meetings are:-
- Insect Photography
- Sharing photographs using sites such as Flickr,
- Photo storage, photo manipulation with software,
- How to compose photos
- Restoring old photos
- Photos around the locality
... and of course there is a wealth of photographic subjects and locations in the locality!
We also have an annual exhibition as part of the Wirksworth Festival and a Christmas quiz (not requiring specialist photographic knowledge!)
We share images at some meetings for constructive comment, not competition.
