Knitting and Crochet
If you like knitting and crocheting, come and join us at The King's Arms on the 2nd and 4th Friday in the month. We have helpers for those who want to learn too.
When we meet most of us pursue our own projects, but a considerable amount of charity work goes on all the time. Among other things we have contributed to the Stansted Christmas boxes, tiny hats for premature babies, socks and beanie hats for Ukraine and twiddle muffs for dementia sufferers.
Our latest adventure has been window dressing! One of the group offered to decorate The Saloon on Chapel Hill for the Coronation, so the seated figure became King Charles with jewel bedecked knitted crown, orb and sceptre with plenty of bunting filling the window. The same figure turned into a shepherd at Christmas, with a wonderful collection of knitted sheep and the all important star. This proved very popular with passing children.
