Gardens

Taw U3A has two Groups with interests in Gardens and Gardening. Each one is described below:

.

Garden Days - GROUP LEADERS: - Roxanne and Graham King

Visits for 2020, to gardens and their associated houses and other attractions in the Southwest and further ‘up country’ along the motorway corridors, are on the 4th Wednesday of each month from April to October inclusive. The programme of venues is shown in the 'Dates for your Diary' section shown below, and further details are published in the newsletters two months in advance.
Priority is given to members of the Garden Days Group. There are currently no membership vacancies as we already have more members than there are seats on the coach, but anyone is welcome to go on the waiting list and there are usually some places available. Bookings should be made early. Payment for confirmed bookings for trips must be paid, by cheque not cash, either by mail (see the monthly newsletters) or personal delivery to group leaders by the end of the month before the trip, or on the coffee morning of the month of the trip. Vacant places will then be offered to members on the waiting list.

This group is run by Taw U3A on behalf of this and Barnstaple U3As.

.

Gardening BTT - CONTACTS FOR TAW U3A MEMBERS: - Daphne Denley and Jean Irvine

This Group comprises members from two local U3A branches: Taw and Torridge. The visits are one-day outings of around 50 members, in very comfortable air-conditioned coaches, to a variety of gardens (and their houses, if they are also open to the public).  These visits are planned for the 3rd Thursdays of the months of April to October, plus an ‘Open Meeting’ with a speaker in March. This Group is full at present and there is a waiting list.

We do not have guided walks, so once we arrive at the garden you are free to suit yourselves.

Please make cheques payable to 'TAW U3A' and send to Mrs J Irvine, to arrive three weeks before the trip. For those who travelled regularly with us previously, if you would like to join us on a trip, please contact Jean to have your name added to the list, as spare places are allocated on a 'first come basis'.
