Gardens

Taw U3A has three groups with interests in Gardens and Gardening. Each one is described below:

Garden Days

Visits for 2023, to gardens and their associated houses and other attractions in the South West and further ‘up country’ along the motorway corridors, are on the 4th Wednesday of each month from April to October inclusive. Further details are published in the newsletters two months in advance.

Priority is given to members of the Garden Days Group. There are currently no membership vacancies as we already have more members than there are seats on the coach, but anyone is most welcome to go on the waiting list and there are almost always some places available. Each visit can be booked once it has been advertised in the monthly newsletter, not before then.

This group is run by Taw U3A on behalf of this and Barnstaple U3A.

Practical Gardening

The Annexe, Fremington Parish Hall, 2nd Thursday every month 10:30am

We meet every month to share our knowledge, to talk about our gardening success, failure and remedies. Talk about our own gardens and ask the questions: where and when to plant that special rose. We will have a topic each month.

Allotment 21

Another new Gardening Group - Allotment 21, Mill Road site, Barnstaple. This group is up and at it, the shed and bench is on the allotment and is in a sunny place, the allotment ground has been made ready for the trays of seedlings/plants our group has been growing. There is 1 hour free roadside parking and a pay and display car park close by. You can come and meet us and take a look at our sunny plot before making your decision to join us. Contact me via our Contact page.
