Family History

Group ConvenorGlenda Cook
VenueWhitworth Library, Lloyd St, Whitworth, Rochdale OL12 8AA
Day Tuesday
Time 10am - 12pm

The group aims to help members to either start researching their family tree and/or build on an existing tree, hopefully, members will also be interested in how our ancestors lived and what affected their lives.

The group will learn along with like-minded people who enjoy research and exploring social history, sharing their own family history, brick walls, red herrings and useful websites.

The group meets monthly at Whitworth Library.

The meetings are a chance report progress, discuss how to overcome a problem and offer help and support in how to make further advances in research.

Trips will also be arranged to local studies centres eg Whitworth Library, Touchstones in Rochdale, the Central Library at Rochdale, Manchester Central Library and Rawtenstall Library to explore their archives. We will also have sessions on getting the best from websites.
