|Meeting pattern||Monthly, 6 pm|
|Venue||St Thomas Church Hall|
We recently enjoyed our fourth meeting of the group and had a premium tasting of wines from New Zealand. By digging deep into my cellar, we can taste more mature and rare wines alongside younger vintages. The 2013 Jewelstone Chardonnay from Mission Estate, the oldest winery in New Zealand (1851) was such an example, rivalling a fine Burgandy. Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties have made New Zealand wine very popular and we are, it seems, all prepared to spend a little bit extra to enjoy the quality they offer. I have presented the wines at each meeting so far, but I plan to have guest speakers visit us from time to time.
