We hold evening Star Gazing meetings on an ad hoc basis, based on weather conditions and the visible night sky. We had far-reaching discussions at our meeting in January 2023, ranging from Moon Phases, to how accurate are our calendars, to galaxies colliding. Some presentation information is shown in the link on the right.
We have exciting discussions at our meetings and recently discussed the accuracy of calendars, going to Mars and the Doppler effect. If you are interested in the stars, the universe, the cosmos and the science behind it and would like to be involved, then please come along to our Astronomy meetings. These are held at The Staddy on the fourth Wednesday of each month commencing at 14:00. The cost is £3 with tea, coffee and biscuits included.
Lots of information and suitable internet links are circulated and members can use this information for their own research. If you are interested in the stars, space or the universe in general, then do come along and be amazed at what we discuss, or contact Roy Fairclough, details above, for a chat.
