Patchwork
The Patchwork group has continued to thrive, meeting twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday afternoons, in the Heritage Centre Room, when we stitch and chat and have a laugh as we enjoy each other’s company.
We received an invitation from the Kennet Quilters who were having an open meeting on 9th September in the Community Hall in Market Lavington. Several of us wanted to attend to gain inspiration for new projects. The picture is from that meeting and show machine quilting created by that group and some of the quilts created by the speaker, Sara Bottomley, for her talk ‘My Quilting Journey’.
Realising that we have more to learn and enjoy we are hoping to invite a member of the Kennet Quilters to come and show us some new techniques we can do by hand. This, we hope, will take place on our second meeting in October.
The 10th September meeting saw us celebrate our 1st year as a U3A group and just over a year since our move from Miss Lemon’s Woolshop. Margaret brought a chocolate cake to mark the occasion which we all enjoyed with our tea.
