Gardening
About the group:-
It’s all to do with gardening. If anyone has a problem question then usually someone knows the answer. We admire triumphs and commiserate on disasters. Also little competitions: who can grow the tallest sunflower.
The meetings are very relaxed, with ample opportunity to walk the host's garden, talk to and make notes on what works well and discuss the challenges the host may be having with their garden, and how these ideas could be used by other members. There is also the chance to swap plants and cuttings, and also time for tea and cake too. I would encourage anyone, regardless of their current gardening knowledge or circumstance, to join the U3A Gardening Group to take advantage of the many years of gardening wisdom that exists within the group. It also enables the sharing of ideas and getting to know, not only the other members, but also what kind of soils there are in the various parts of the village(s) and the plants that can, and cannot, be successfully grown.
The group meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month 10am - noon at members' houses.
