About the group:-
This is a friendly self-help group of mixed ability and media which will give ample opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
We believe that this environment will help members to improve their existing techniques and perhaps experiment with new ideas.
Please note that there will be no formal instruction.
At our last meeting in April we welcomed a local artist, Cathy Pearce, to give a demonstration of her work with pastels. Cathy works in several media but especially pastels.
During the afternoon we watched Cathy demonstrating the various ways she uses pastels to full effect. She produced a spring woodland scene as we watched but also brought along with her more examples of her work including still life pictures and landscapes. She also had with her sketch books showing how she develops her techniques.
We know that her demonstration inspired some of the group to get out their own pastels and try different ways to use them. During our absence in Greece the group continued to meet - thanks to Dot and other group members, so we look forward to seeing what the group has been doing in our time away!
The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday from 2.00pm - 4.00pm at Manningford Village Hall
