French Group 2
The second French conversation group (we only started meeting last September) has continued meeting once a month for a two-hour chat over coffee and biscuits.
We always start our sessions with a general chit-chat, catching up on everyone’s ‘quoi de neuf’ since the previous meeting. We have enjoyed hearing about holidays to far flung corners of the world, the trials and tribulations of having building work done, and the vagaries of the NHS – all of which have given us the opportunity to learn new vocab.
We usually then read through an article or a poem and attempt to translate it, and one month we had a little quiz on useful expressions (test yourself below!).
We all seem to learn something new each month, although of course the best bit of getting together is just for the enjoyment of speaking French for a couple of hours and reminding ourselves why we love the language and the country.
It meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in Pewsey from 10am to 12noon
