POST OF CHAIR TO ROTHERHAM U3A
As you may know, Lesley White, our Chair, will be stepping down at the AGM in September 2024, but will stay on as a Trustee in an advisory role. The post of Chair is one that we must have in order for Rotherham u3a to continue to run and it is therefore vital that a volunteer comes forward to take on this role. The Third Age Trust is in the process of changing the website platform for all its 700+ u3a's during the next 9 months. We have now been approached and I have started the training programme. I expect the new website to be up and running around May/June time. The new website will be called SitePress and use the WordPress platform. The good news is that two volunteers have come forward and shown an interest in the Website Manager's post and will be working with me during the transition period towards the new website.

JEAN JENKINSON and BRENDA BANKS, deceased December 2023, MARY GEORGE d. February 2024 and SHIRLEY CARVER d. March 2024
We are saddened to learn of the passing of four of our members - Jean Jenkinson and Brenda Banks in December 2023, Mary George in February 2024 and Shirley Carver in March 2024. Well done to the new Absolute Beginners' Spanish group for successfully completing the Pilot programme and becoming a full Ru3a group. | Thu Jul 11th | GARDEN/OUT AND ABOUT TRIPS (GOAT) | VISIT TO RHS BRIDGEWATER This date and the coach have now been booked. Booking forms can be accessed on the website and Val will be at the social meetings with booking forms available. Payment must be received by 11 June. Ideally pay on line (Ref GOAT/name) but cash /cheques accepted. Because of the increase in cost of the coach, unfortunately we have had to increase the cost to £17 for members and £19 for non. members. The good news is we have free entry to Bridgewater. We will pick up at the usual points: Tanyard 9.45 am, then Brecks, Stag, Middle Lane and finally at Corporation Street at 10.am. We will leave the gardens after 4 pm.
