History

incorporating Local History

We usually meet at the Boniface Centre for a 10:00 am start on the last Thursday of the month.

We generally have a presentation at each monthly meeting, alternating so that one month we focus on local history, the next month a non-local topic. The group enjoyed an extremely varied programme during 2019. Keep the ideas coming, everyone, for a great 2020 programme.

We are also planning to run some research projects. Possible topics include a visit to the Cathedral Archives and a new look at the Exon Domesday, making use of some exciting new material online. We aim to discuss these and other topics at our monthly meetings.

Our February meeting (Thurs 27th Feb, 10:00am at the Boniface Centre) will feature two short talks by members of the group in a programme we are calling, "All at Sea":

Ron Parkhouse, "Knots & Nautical Miles", and
Cheryl Lewis, "Pirates of the Caribbean - and Devon".
