Natural History is a broad-ranging subject which deals with the study and observation of plants and animals in their natural environment, and how geology has shaped and modified the latter over the millennia.
The Natural History Group tries to cover a wide range of topics which, for example, have previously included guided coastal walks, geology outings to the Coquet Valley and other sites, visits to the hay meadows in the National Park, bat watching, woodland walks and flowers, the Chillingham cattle, and bird watching outings throughout the seasons. Not surprisingly, most of our meetings are outdoors, but we do have a few indoor meetings during the winter period.
The Group usually meets at 10.00 am on the first Friday of the month, but occasionally on the third Friday to fit in with a guide or a guest speaker.
