Seaton

People in History

Our sessions run from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. We meet in an upstairs room of Seaton Town Hall, Fore Street.

Each session we look at the life of an individual or a group, usually famous but not necessarily so, and look at their career and the time they lived in.

We are not limited to British or European History and we endeavour to cover all time periods from ancient times to the present day. One month we may be checking out life in 18th Century Britain to be followed a few weeks later by the happenings in Ancient Rome. We will check out political and military careers as well as domestic issues.

The Choice of subjects was originally down to the group leader but increasingly suggestions from group members are making an impact on the timetable. In the same vein group members will take some of the sessions and this will hopefully increase in the future.

The list of future topics is extensive and growing.
