The Family History group meets at 11:30a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month upstairs in the Heritage section of Elgin library where we have access to the internet and a wealth of information. The staff there are very helpful. Our recent projects have included researching a family member who served in WW1. This was followed up by some group members visiting Roseisle beach as part of Danny Boyle's Pages of the Sea memorial on the 100th anniversary of Armistice day. We also wrote a detailed story about a chosen ancestor using documents, certificates, census forms and newspaper articles.
A trip to the Highland Archive Centre has been enjoyed, where we accessed the Scotland's People website and maritime records.
Our Group Leader is Liz Attridge.
