Mull & Iona

History and Archaeology Walks.

Mull & Iona have a truly fascinating and rare history. The evidence for it is all around us, from standing stones and Iron Age brochs to the legacy of St Columba and, not quite so far back, the evidence of the way of life of Muileachs in the C18th and C19th centuries before the clearances and desertions of many island townships. The plan is to mainly visit sites around the islands, although occasional trips to places of interest off island will also be considered and some meetings will be indoors as appropriate. Some site visits may require a bit of a hike, but most will be easily accessible if you aren’t very mobile.
