Our Group meets every couple of months or so, a Tuesday evening in members' homes or a pub room.
You don't have to be an expert to join, an interest in science - and at work around us - is fine, plus a sense of curiosity. Some of us have worked in relevant fields; others not. Even if we have we may not know much about other fields, so don't be put off. We just want to keep up to date with what is going on in the world of science and its impact on us.
Topics reflect interests of members across Science - physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, psychology - with emphasis on relevance to our daily lives. For example, climate change, the green transition, health and medicine, AI, all things digital.
We usually pick a theme to explore at each meeting, led by a member. Recently deep time and extinction, medicine discovery, behaviour, generative AI and the food system.
Members are encouraged to share in organising activities.
