Local History
The group has eight members and we meet monthly over tea and biscuits in each others’ homes for discussion about various aspects of local history. Some members of the group have studied particular topics such as ancient routes, overseer’s accounts, mineral extraction, public transport, North Street buildings and occupations. We have produced booklets which can be read at Oundle Museum. More recently we have considered the history of local Alms-houses, charities and libraries. Due to the pandemic, we did not meet for two years but we are now up and running again, and current plans include broadening our remit to include the history of a wider area around Oundle.
We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 9.30 am.
