We will meet in the car park across from the Heath Cafe at the usual time of 10.00am ready for a 10.15am start. Refreshments are available in the cafe at the end of the walk.
If any member is aware of a walking route that we have not yet tried, that meets our requirements of: three miles circular, non severe; adequate, safe parking at the start; facilities nearby for refreshments and toilets etc, please let Chris Cawdell know.
The walk is only available to paid-up members of Royston U3A, for insurance purposes, so please make sure that your membership for Royston U3A is valid.
General Notes
Walks in 2024 will now run on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month as listed on the u3a website instead of once a fortnight which is what we have been doing. This should help those that have other regular commitments on a Thursday.
3 miles long, some shorter, some longer. The number of participants usually varies between 10 and 20.
We now have a selection of circular walks in Royston and the surrounding villages which we alternate between. There is always parking and most have refreshments and toilets available nearby but not all.
We walk whatever the weather as long as the access roads are free of ice and snow and it is safe underfoot with suitable footwear.
We start our walks promptly at 10.15am and aim to finish by 11.30am so that we have time to enjoy refeshments afterwards.
Dogs are welcome on most walks as long as they are under control and are not a trip hazard to other members. The only walk they can not join us for is the one to the Fowlmere RSPB site where they are not allowed entry.
If you are a fully paid-up member of Royston u3a and would like to join us regularly or just occasionally, please let me have your contact details and I will include you on the mailing list so that you receive details of each walk a few days before they happen.
