Technology Help Page

We find ourselves living in interesting and challenging times. Covid-19 has changed the way we do so many things, getting together with family, shopping and socialising with friends being the important ones.

Groups like the U3A are having to find new ways to operate and support members. Face to face meetings and groups are restricted by location and size. As a result people are turning to technology to offer a solution. Many of us are using applications like WhatsApp and Zoom to stay in touch with friends and family on a variety of devices, phones, tablets, desktop PCs and laptops.

For larger groups by far the most popular application is Zoom, it has both the benefit of being free and offering a very useful set of features. It can be used by as few as 2 people or as many as 100.

On the right of this page are links to a number of documents sent to us to help people use the Zoom application. You should find answers to any questions you may have in these documents.

You can find help setting up Zoom on many devices and for group leaders wishing to use Zoom there is help with this too.
