History

For further details please contact Bethan Welch

This group will look at various aspects of local or general History - depending on the interests of the group members. The aim is to take members' interests a little further and perhaps to give a short talk on their interest - though this is by no means compulsory. The group may wish to pursue topics as a group - for example comparing the TV series "Wolf Hall" with what we really know about Thomas Cromwell

We have been considering the Tudors. Members recently gave papers on ‘the Elizabethan Navy’ and ‘ Humphrey Llwyd the renaissance polymath from Denbigh’. At our next meeting on November 24th we will look at ‘Puritans, Catholics and Conformists during the reign of Elizabeth’.

Attendance is generally between 10 and 15.

Meetings are on Monday Afternoon in The Naylor Leyland Centre on the second Monday afternoon of each month
