Local History
The group will meet monthly, in the afternoon of the third Tuesday of every month (not December) and will normally be 2 hours in duration.
The meeting will be held at the Pavilion, unless a local visit is arranged.
This group will be re-searching the history of the local parishes commencing with the parish of Hawkwell. It will also look at the local areas involvement in respect of World War 1.
Each member will be expected to participate in any research undertaken by the group. This will not be onerous and will always be part of the activities of the group as a whole.
Suitable clothing should be worn on any site visit and any travel arrangements should be agreed beforehand
No specific health and safety issues are foreseen, but on site visit’s a minimal amount of walking will be undertaken and at times the terrain may be uneven. Members should also be aware that access to and within some premises may be restricted and household pets may be encountered.
Participation is at the members own risk.
