Geology

Sorry, all meetings have been postponed until further notice. You can find out our current situation on my monthly update. Please keep an eye on this website for information about our future meetings. Meanwhile, here's some interesting news about a billion year old fossil.
Or click A new eruptive fissure for the latest news about the Iceland Volcano.

Scroll down this page to see the Volcano and lava flow.

The Geology Group meet on the last Friday of the month. We have field trips with geologists or guides explaining the geology of that area. Visits to quarries, lead & copper mines, museums, fossil hunts, lectures and much more. We are establishing our own geology book & DVD library for the group and in October 16 of us spent a few interesting days in Iceland. It keeps on getting better!

Follow links to see reports of all our trips and Next Geology trip or "Dates for your Diary" below for information about planned trips.
