If you are interested in researching your family history why not come and join us. We are a friendly group who meet regularly to share ideas, knowledge and information regarding resources to help with our searches into our family history.
Four of us met at the Lopes Arms in Roborough. Martin related a fascinating story of the discovery of a war widow’s commemorative medallion in the possession of an elderly friend. Sue was very helpful sharing tips for input of searches for information.
After a break for the summer the group has restarted. Shirley was able to show the Stickland family tree dating back to the 12 century with family crests and some history of beheadings for treason and death at Bosworth. Shirley's grandson has been helping with the family research using a website called Zoompast. Sue shared some information on relevant websites for research, the war graves commission CWGC at Weston Mill, www.findmypast.co.uk and www.FHS.org.UK.(partner Plymouth and West Devon). An enjoyable afternoon full of information
