This group has been running for several years and we have studied the general history of various countries.
Over the last few years we have looked at China and USA, and are at present just beginning Denmark and related Scandinavian lands. This was chosen by the group as an area about which we knew very little despite being so close to us in Europe.
As the group leader I research and provide a chronological framework of topics which are then chosen by individual members according to their interest. Each person does their own detailed research and each month 2 or 3 of us delivers a short written summary of the topic chosen (about 10-15 minutes).
This means you usually only speak every 3 months unless you have decided you wish to do more.
We usually plan the topics 2 months in advance and not always in chronological order, due to our members’ interests or indeed their availability due to holidays or other commitments. We are very flexible and sometimes our members are side tracked from their original ideas but provide us with fascinating details.
