Our next walk will be on 19 August, meeting at 10am at Car park at High Peak, Blackstone Edge old road. A 3-4 mile circular walk. Back in time for Lunch.

This walking group hopes to cater for all abilities.
We sincerely hope that you will enjoy your walks with us, and that our routes will delight both experienced and novice walkers.
Walks are organised for the 3rd Thursday morning in each month, and start at 10.00 am.
Group members are encouraged to plan and lead future walks.

We will walk the three & a half mile GEOLOGY TRAIL on TODMORDEN MOOR
This route as the name suggests is over moorland ---- good footware & wet -weather apparel may be useful !!
If on the day the weather is poor we will revise the walk to somewhere lower down
HOW TO GET TO GUIDE QUARRY
MAIN ROAD (A6033) TO TODMORDEN
@GAUXHOLME (half a mile before TODMORDEN) take the LEFT HAND (A681) turning to BACUP. Travel along for one & a half miles to CLOUGHFOOT -------here you turn right up SOURHALL ROAD carry on here for about one mile & @ at the road junction turn left over the cattle grid
GUIDE QUARRY IS THREE QUARTERS OF A MILE UP THIS ROAD ON YOUR LEFT
limited car parking facilities at the start point.
New walkers should bring emergency telephone numbers for next of kin, and will be asked to confirm they have completed their personal risk assessment.
